Artist's Bio

Robyn Harton
Jewelry Artist, Designer, Crystal Fanatic

Born in North Carolina and raised in Virginia, Robyn has always found ways to express herself with her artwork. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in jewelry-making. Over the years Robyn has worked in oils, acrylics, mixed media, precious metals, collage, graphic design, web design, font making, and various crafts. Robyn started her own jewelry and crystals business in 2000, showing and selling her creations at her website, CrystalsAndJewelry.com.

RobynWhile Robyn has worked artistically in many media, as she states it, “Along the way to figuring life out, I tried many things. I always come back to making jewelry, no matter what else I am into at the time..” Robyn finds that making artistic creations that are beautiful and functional are the greatest enjoyment for her. Jewelry is the perfect combination for that. She says,

“In some sense, all my jewelry and other artworks, from the first scribblings with chalk on the kitchen linoleum to today, are my visual attempt to make sense of the world around me and my feelings. There are so many things to rise above in life, but also so many lights in the world. In my attempt to make some sense I reach out to transform the difficult, painful, and ugly, into healing and light. Not interested in direct representation, my work is an intuitive, visionary, metaphorical thing. I attempt to share this healing and light on all levels with my creations.”

Robyn's creative jewelry and original fonts are always done on a personal level. She makes jewelry and gifts that intuitively takes the wearer or user into account, with things like their feelings and thoughts and needs as driving forces behind her work. She believes that the right person will be drawn to the right jewelry for them. Thus, the right creation intuitively done for a real human being is the driving force behind her work.
